Miss Universe 2023 is a Sexy Senior

Alejandra Rodriguez, new regional miss of Buenos Aires for Miss Universe

For the first time in the history of Miss Universe, the regional crown in Buenos Aires was won by a 60-year-old candidate, Alejandra Rodríguez, a lawyer and journalist by profession. This victory marks an era of diversity in beauty pageants and it’s not an April Fool’s joke…

Alejandra stood out among 34 other candidates, proving that age is just a number. Her victory is a symbol of the evolution of the criteria of the famous beauty pageant.

"I am delighted to represent this break in beauty pageants," she declared. With her balanced diet and regular sports routine, she embodies a model of well-being.

This upheaval follows the acquisition of Miss Universe by Thai businesswoman Anne Jakapong Jakrajutatip in 2022. She introduced progressive changes to the rules, accepting candidates over 28 years old, as well as those who are married, divorced, or mothers.

The next step for Alejandra is the national selection on May 25, 2024. If she won, she could become the first 60-year-old woman to compete for the title of Miss Universe.
