François Berléand says he sold his Basque Country farm through a different contact than the L’Agence family. In an interview excerpt published on October 12, 2026 by Bel RTL, he acknowledges a financial loss, without putting a figure on it. The agents had secured an offer of 450,000 euros in 2023. He had turned it down because it did not cover the loan he said he still had to repay.
A Sale Sealed Through Another Contact
On Bonjour Benjamin, the excerpt published by Bel RTL gives the actor’s account. He explains that the deal was done by someone who had already contacted him. He does not specify that person’s exact role or whether they were a real estate professional.
When asked about the outcome of the deal, François Berléand acknowledges losing money. He also says he had warned the buyer about the house’s poor condition. The final sale price and the signing date remain unknown.
In 2023, a 450,000-Euro Offer Was Rejected
In the L’Agence segment aired on February 2, 2023 on TMC, Martin Kretz presented Bordeaux buyers interested in the property. One of them owned a construction company. For the agent, that experience matched the needs of a property requiring major renovation. After several visits, these clients offered 450,000 euros.
François Berléand refused that amount. He explained that he still had a 585,000-euro loan to repay and could no longer stand paying for the house. The offer was therefore 135,000 euros below the debt he said he owed.
Martin and Olivier Kretz nonetheless passed the offer along to him. Martin pointed out that it was not contingent on securing a loan. The buyers were not making their offer dependent on a bank’s approval. That argument was not enough to convince the seller.
A Non-Exclusive Listing and a Competing Offer
In this exchange, Martin Kretz also explained that his family had not signed an exclusive agreement with the actor. He mentioned François Berléand’s personal network and his local contacts. The actor himself was making efforts to find a buyer, alongside the agents’ work.
He told them about another offer, between 600,000 and 680,000 euros. It came from someone he described as familiar with construction work. The Kretzes advised him to check that person’s financial stability and to accept if the offer was serious.
That range corresponds to an offer mentioned in 2023. It does not amount to a final sale price. François Berléand’s recent statements do not make it possible to establish any more than that this contact is the one through which the sale eventually went through.
A Difficult Project Before The Kretzes Got Involved
The story of this property dates back to his purchase of it in 2016. François Berléand wanted to renovate an old Basque Country farm. According to his account, the project dragged on and the work turned into a disaster. Before his search for buyers was shown on L’Agence, he had already described his difficulties on C à vous.
On Bel RTL, he says he met the Kretzes during a television program. He had told them about the property and its condition, then got back in touch after receiving their card. Their marketing assignment thus came after the renovation difficulties he describes.
The actor claims he was cheated in this renovation affair. That accusation remains his testimony; the public information cited does not make it possible to establish what happened legally afterward. It should not be attributed to the Kretzes, who were later brought in to sell the property.
When asked whether he would call on them again, François Berléand answers no. He immediately qualifies that: he is not saying they are bad and mainly hopes not to be cheated again. His refusal to repeat the experience therefore does not amount to a substantiated accusation of professional wrongdoing against the agency.
The financial loss he declares also remains without a verifiable amount. The remaining loan to be repaid in 2023, the renovation expenses, and the offers received all refer to different sums. None of them alone makes it possible to calculate what the sale ultimately cost him.
