On Saturday, March 2, Simon Porte Jacquemus, now a staple of French fashion, was decorated with the Order of Arts and Letters, thus becoming the youngest designer to receive this distinction. The ceremony, presided over by the legendary Anna Wintour, highlighted the importance of his exceptional journey.

Born in Provence, Simon Porte Jacquemus, thanks to his undeniable talent and perseverance, has established his eponymous brand, Jacquemus, in the global fashion universe. The distinction was awarded to him in the heart of Fashion Week, at the brand’s headquarters located in the prestigious 8th arrondissement of Paris.

The designer wanted to dedicate this moment to his late mother, his source of inspiration, thus reminding us of how personal trials have certainly shaped his determination.

In presenting him with the medal, the formidable Anna Wintour praised a model career, highlighting the originality and audacity that characterize Jacquemus’s creations.

Since its launch in 2009, Porte Jacquemus has enjoyed great success thanks to a simple, but moving fashion. The collections, always anticipated, blend innovation with a certain nostalgia for the designer’s native Provence, offering a unique universe that appeals well beyond French borders, judging by the interest shown by international stars. Julia Roberts and Victoria Beckham among others, have attended his shows.

This title of Knight of Arts and Letters thus rewards a designer who has managed to redefine the contours of contemporary fashion, offering a refreshing and deeply personal vision.

Simon Porte Jacquemus, through his passionate work and vision, demonstrates that fashion is not just about clothes, but a true art of living, vibrant and colorful, like Provence. Let’s wish for continued expansion to this very French house.
