France, which last won the famous contest in 1977, is automatically qualified for the Eurovision final. It enjoys the same visibility as the other competing countries thanks to a new contest rule. Slimane, the French representative, performed in the semifinal with his song Mon Amour. This song, which has already earned him plenty of praise, is raising high hopes for the final.
Slimane stood out with a noteworthy three-minute performance, moving the audience. That was enough to put the singer among the favorites. The question remains whether this successful performance will win over the jury and the public in the final.
