On Friday, August 9, 2024, Paris hosted a major fashion event at the Salon des Miroirs in the 9th arrondissement: An Olympic Night of Fashion – Paris 2024. This runway show, organized for the Paris Olympic Games, brought together fashion designers from around the world. It also celebrated cultural diversity through fashion. Pierre-Antoine Tsady, our editor-in-chief, tells you about this colorful evening.
An International Designer Lineup
Luis Machicao, whom we know well at Ecostylia, opened the show. Known for his elegant and sophisticated feminine designs, Machicao blends traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary vision. Much loved by Hollywood, he designed the costumes for the blockbuster Hunger Games, among others. We had the opportunity to interview him last year. He shared with us his long experience in fashion and his inspirations.
Teresa Maria Rosati, a Polish designer, won over the audience with her delicate feminine dresses, where romance meets impeccable artisanal craftsmanship. Her collection was a tribute to femininity and timeless beauty.
Manish Vaid, a Paris- and Los Angeles-based stylist of Indian origin, brought an Eastern touch with a collection highlighting a reimagined and modernized Indian heritage. His creations rich in detail and vibrant colors transported spectators to the heart of the land of the maharajahs. He also added nods to Paris, which he appreciates.
Leo Norma, a French designer of Moroccan origin, closed the show with a collection blending Parisian elegance with the flavors of the chérifien kingdom of his ancestors. His elegant and structured pieces, designed for men and women, fascinated with their complexity and refinement.
Jean Koute, a Munich-based designer, presented a bold collection blending pieces for men and women. This runway show, organized as a nonprofit effort to fight sexual violence, made a strong impression. The studded garments drew attention, reflecting a decidedly rock style that celebrates rebellion.

Our Take On This Fashion Show
This show brilliantly illustrated fashion’s role as a mirror of the planet’s many cultures. Through their work, each designer sought to push themselves further while showing openness to a cosmopolitan vision. Luis Machicao, with his exceptionally rare command of bright colors, Jean Koute with his heightened rebellion, Teresa Maria Rosati and her Slavic romanticism, Manish Vaid who revived the splendor of Indian civilization, and of course Leo Norma with his celebration of Franco-Moroccan diversity, all proved that fashion is a universal language, always capable of amazing us.
We also want to salute the outstanding work of all the other designers. Their originality and talent helped make this show a truly unique event.
