The difficulties continue for the Sussexes! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry face multiple conflicts, not only with the Duke of Sussex’s family but also with the Duchess’s family. Recently, the mother of Archie and Lilibet won a legal battle against her half-sister, Samantha Markle.
Samantha Markle accuses Meghan of making "disparaging comments" about her during various interviews. However, despite Meghan’s victory, this case is far from over, as Samantha has decided to appeal.
Since March 2022, this conflict dates back to Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey. Meghan had claimed to have been primarily raised as an "only child" and that Samantha only took the Markle name after she started dating Harry. According to Samantha’s lawyers, these comments are "disparaging, hurtful, and false," implying that Samantha is a "stranger, liar, and fame-seeker with greedy intentions."
Despite Meghan Markle’s victory, Samantha Markle has decided to take the case to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. According to L’Express, Samantha’s lawyers have until July to file their "initial brief." Newsweek reports that the lawyers wish to demonstrate that the initial judge did not consider the cumulative significance of Meghan’s remarks, analyzing them in isolation.
