Louane has made official news that has thrilled her fans: she will represent France at the Eurovision 2025. It was in a video posted on her Instagram account on Thursday, January 30, that the 28-year-old singer confirmed her participation in the famous music contest. Visibly moved, she spoke of a childhood dream she shared with her mother, who passed away in 2014.

"We were light-years away from imagining it could be possible, but you dreamed of it. I dreamed of it too, of that life, of that moment… I’m sure you’re proud, watching from afar. So you know what? I’m going to do it for us, I’m going to do it for our dreams. I’m going to represent France at Eurovision," she declares in this emotion-filled sequence.
Louane‘s announcement was met with enthusiasm by France Télévisions, which confirmed this nomination in an official statement. Alexandra Redde-Amiel, head of the French delegation to Eurovision, expressed her thoughts on the matter: "It is an immense pride to welcome Louane into the Eurovision family. An authentic, passionate, and fascinating artist who has already won the hearts of the French public. She will be supported by an entire nation."
A Rapid Rise for Louane
Louane – whose real name is Anne Peichert – is no stranger to musical challenges. Revealed in 2013 by the show The Voice on TF1, she managed to turn her appearance on the talent show into a meteoric success.
In 2014, her talent did not go unnoticed, and she landed the lead role in the film La Famille Bélier. This role earned her the César for Most Promising Actress in 2015, confirming her status as a multi-talented artist.

The following year, she released her first album, Chambre 12, which became a true musical phenomenon. Driven by hits like Jour 1 and Avenir, the album was certified double diamond. She then followed up with several successful albums, including Joie de vivre (2020) and her latest album Solo, released in October 2024.
A Winning Strategy for France at Eurovision?
For several years, France has been trying to regain a place of honor at Eurovision. After decades of mixed results, the French delegation is now focusing on popular and established artists.
In 2024, Slimane finished fourth with his song Mon Amour. A good result, but still not enough to break the curse. Indeed, the last French victory dates back to 1977, when Marie Myriam triumphed with L’oiseau et l’enfant.
The choice of Louane seems to align with this desire to select charismatic artists close to the public. With her stage experience and connection with the French people, she could well charm the European audience and offer France a prestigious ranking, or even a historic victory.
See You in May in Basel
The grand finale of Eurovision 2025 will take place on May 17 in Basel, Switzerland. Louane will face many talented artists from all over Europe. To date, several countries have confirmed their participation and, for some, have already selected their representatives. Here are the confirmed participants and their artists so far:
Albania: Shkodra Elektronike with the song "Zjerm".
Montenegro: Nina Žižić will perform "Dobrodošli".
Luxembourg: Laura Thorn with "La poupée monte le son".
Netherlands: Claude, song to be announced.
Israel: Yuval Raphael, song to be announced.

Although the French title has not yet been revealed, expectations are already high. Her pop universe with catchy melodies could well make a lasting impression and achieve an honorable result, or even a long-awaited trophy.
In the meantime, the artist can count on the support of the French public and her many fans, eager to see her shine on the Eurovision stage.
