From Douala to Oslo, Larisa Gabu Kamga’s journey embodies a path of resilience, creativity, and social commitment. Her name today stands out as a unique voice. Indeed, it is at the intersection of fashion, personal development, and interculturality.
From Exile to Integration: An Ambition Built in Silence

Arriving in Norway in 2008 through family reunification, Larisa Gabu Kamga left her native Cameroon with the hope of a better future, but also the weight of an exile she had not planned. She had to learn a new language and assimilate different social codes. Then, she had to find her place in a Nordic society often unaccustomed to diversity.
She chose to study early childhood education at the University of Stavanger, where she earned her degree. In parallel, she worked as a translator and speaker in educational institutions, using her multilingualism to foster intercultural dialogue.
The Pandemic as a Catalyst for Vocation
In 2020, in the midst of the Covid-19 crisis, Larisa decided to turn the prevailing isolation into a creative opportunity. She founded the association Beautiful Inside World (B.I.O.W.), focused on self-empowerment, particularly for women, children, and young people in vulnerable situations. Through mentoring workshops, conferences, and events centered on self-image, she seeks to inspire a new awareness: that of a personal potential to be revealed.
A Bridge to Fashion: From Social Commitment to the International Stage
This dynamic gradually led her to the world of fashion. It is not about commercial and standardized fashion, but inclusive fashion. It is rooted in self-esteem and celebrates diverse identities. In April 2024, she organized her first fashion show in Oslo, marking the birth of a new brand: Larisa Joy Beauty. A label where curves, skin tones, and cultures converse on the runways.
Her commitment draws attention: she wins several international awards, including Mrs. Cameroon World (2021), Ms. Norway (2022), and Queen of Marketing (2023). In May 2025, she walks the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival for the first time, accompanied by her team of models Beautiful Inside Out. Ten women proudly represent a vision of fashion that gives meaning and power to self-esteem.
She continues her international conquest with a notable participation in the Paris Fashion Week, then at the Global Beauty Award in Seattle, where she receives the Best Congeniality award.
On the Way to Flekkefjør: A New International Rendezvous

Always on the move, Larisa Gabu Kamga is now preparing a larger-scale event: her Annual Conference, Fashion Show & Award Show, which will be held on September 26 and 27, 2025 in Flekkefjør kommune, Norway. The goal is to create a space for visibility, inspiration, and recognition. This space is aimed at fashion talents and personal development actors. It also includes the voices of diversity.
Writing and Media as Vectors of Influence
A writer in her spare time, Larisa publishes I PRAY, a book on spirituality and the power of daily prayer. She shares an intimate approach to the connection with transcendence. Moreover, she assumes a stance as a believing woman, entrepreneurial and committed.
On social media and in her show Larisa Gabu Show, she hosts personalities from various backgrounds to discuss their journeys. A natural extension of her fight: to show that diversity, far from being a weakness, is a richness to be celebrated.

An Exemplary Trajectory in the Service of a Fairer World
Larisa Gabu Kamga embodies a new generation of African women who, without denying their roots, build a career on a global scale. Her journey is at the crossroads of entrepreneurship, culture, social issues, and spirituality. Thus, it outlines the contours of an inspiring and resolutely modern female leadership.
Her journey shows that migratory stories are not solely tales of loss. On the contrary, they often represent stories of creation, adaptation, and resilience. This happens when they encounter the necessary courage to fully achieve themselves.
