Jean-Jacques Goldman, absent from the media since 2001, lives a discreet life and now dedicates himself to causes close to his heart. Recently, he surprised by contributing to an educational project in Vénissieux, writing the lyrics of a song about the Resistance for the primary school students of Louis-Pergaud.
In 2019, Nadia Bachmar, a passionate teacher and admirer of the singer, initiated a show about the Resistance with her CM1 class. Knowing the history of Goldman’s father, a resistor in the same city, she invited him to join the project. Despite a delay caused by the pandemic, the artist responded favorably and offered to write a song for the children.
The contribution of Michael Jones, a close collaborator of Goldman, also enriches the project. He participated in the first performance of the show Vénissieux la belle, la rebelle (Vénissieux the beautiful, the rebel in French), where he performed Je te donne (I give you in French).
The project did not stop there. Even after moving on to middle school, the students continue to gather for commemorations and activities around the memory of the Resistance. Goldman’s song, finally received and integrated into the project, underscores the artist’s ongoing commitment to educational and memorial causes.
