Prince Harry will be back in London on May 8th to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games at St. Paul’s Cathedral. His last visit to the UK was in February, motivated by his father’s illness, King Charles III. Contrary to expectations, Meghan Markle will not be attending.
Indeed, although the couple lives in the United States, Meghan has decided not to accompany Harry for this celebration. Their geographical separation will only be temporary, as she will join the Duke for a visit to Nigeria inspired by the Invictus Games, right after his trip to the UK.
This decision comes in a context in which Harry expresses the desire to see his family more frequently. In February, he revealed in an interview for Good Morning America his intention to make stopovers in the UK during his travels across Europe, to see his family "as much as possible".
This return is also symbolic, reminding that Meghan and Harry renounced their official roles within the royal family in 2020. Meghan did not even attend the coronation of King Charles III in May 2023, a major event for the royal family.
