Months pass, but the wounds persist between Prince Harry and the British royal family. Hopes of reconciliation seem far away. Harry is making efforts to mend ties, but the path remains challenging.

On May 7, Harry received an ovation in England. However, the royal family did not wish to support him. The next day, during the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, he hoped to meet his father, King Charles III, but the latter did not wish to make himself available to him. Neither his brother, nor Kate Middleton deemed it necessary to respond.

A royal expert revealed that Harry tried to reach out to Kate after his return to London. Columnist Tom Quinn indicates that Kate, despite her ongoing support for her husband despite her own health problems, did not respond favorably. Despite the support expressed by Harry and Meghan for Kate, who is suffering, the Princess of Wales remains distant.

Relations between Harry and the royal family have deteriorated since 2020, the year Harry and Meghan left the United Kingdom for California. The couple criticized the royal family, notably during the interview with the famous Oprah Winfrey, but also in Prince Harry’s memoirs, published in 2023.

The bad streak continues with the British magazine Tatler which dedicated its June 2024 cover to Kate Middleton with a portrait by artist Hannah Uzor. The initiative was heavily criticized online for its lack of resemblance and quality. This controversy recalls the recent negative reactions to the official portrait of King Charles III.

Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles III, Queen Camilla, and Prince William will significantly reduce their public appearances due to the legislative elections of July 4, 2024, in order not to disrupt the campaign. Few commitments, such as the visit to Normandy and the Trooping the Colour ceremony, are maintained. Prince William also had to cancel an event scheduled for this Thursday.
