French YouTuber Greg Guillotin, 43, will appear on November 27, 2026, before the criminal court in Évry, in the Essonne department. The prosecutor’s office announced this to AFP. The proceedings concern alleged repeated domestic violence against a former partner between 2020 and 2026. Following his custody, the defense acknowledges some violence but disputes the existence of a system of control. The YouTuber remains presumed innocent.
Charges For Repeated Violence Between 2020 And 2026
The Évry prosecutor’s office is pursuing the charge of “repeated violence by a spouse” resulting in total incapacity to work exceeding eight days. In this case, that duration is set at thirty days, it told AFP. The alleged acts are said to have been committed from September 9, 2020, to April 6, 2026, according to its statements on the proceedings.
The charge of repeated violence concerns the repetition of the alleged acts within the couple. The court will have to examine the facts, their context, and the evidence presented by the parties. The announcement of these proceedings does not constitute a decision on guilt.
The comedian’s former partner filed a complaint on June 17, 2026, with the Évry public prosecutor. She denounced domestic violence and harassment. In this complaint, which AFP has reviewed, she alleges repeated physical and psychological violence. She also describes monitoring, humiliation, and insults that, she says, established control during their relationship.
The investigation was assigned to the Essonne gendarmes. Greg Guillotin was taken into police custody in Palaiseau on Monday, September 28, then brought before the prosecutor’s office on Tuesday, September 29.
Judicial Supervision Reported After Police Custody
According to Le Parisien, the judge of freedoms and detention ordered him placed under judicial supervision on the evening of September 29. The newspaper reports restrictions concerning his contact with the complainant, without detailing all of the obligations imposed.
Earlier, the prosecutor’s office had requested a ban on contact with her and a ban on going to her home. It also requested a treatment order. These three measures correspond to the requests of the public prosecutor as communicated to AFP. Their wording must be distinguished from the precise content of the judge’s decision.
Judicial supervision allows obligations to be imposed on a person who remains free during the proceedings. In this framework, the judge of freedoms and detention rules on the prosecutor’s requests. Beforehand, the judge hears any observations from the defendant or their lawyer.
Thirty Days Of ITT, An Assessment Of The Effects Of The Violence
Total incapacity to work, or ITT, is a criminal-law concept. It measures the period during which a person is unable to carry out the ordinary activities of daily life normally. These difficulties can be physical or psychological. It is therefore not the same as a work leave of absence.
As explained by the statistical office of the Ministry of the Interior, this assessment can concern a person who has no job. A doctor is authorized to certify it. It helps assess the severity of the injuries and to criminally qualify the violence.
In the case involving Greg Guillotin, the prosecutor’s office is citing thirty days of ITT. That duration exceeds the eight-day threshold mentioned in the announced charge. This figure does not indicate the number of incidents reported or, by itself, the nature of each one. The medical evidence and other items in the case file may be debated at the hearing.
Why A Deferred Appearance?
The prosecutor’s office announced a deferred appearance. Article 397-1-1 of the Code of Criminal Procedure provides for this procedure when the evidence is deemed sufficient to refer the case to the court. However, the results of requested forensic, technical, or medical examinations or reports must still be awaited.
The defendant must be assisted by a lawyer. The text provides for a hearing within a maximum of two months. In the meantime, it organizes access by the parties to any newly added documents in the case file. The defense may also request any actions it considers necessary to establish the truth.
This legal framework explains how a hearing can be scheduled after presentation to the prosecutor’s office, without an immediate ruling. It does not make it possible to specify which results were still pending in this case. For Greg Guillotin, the announced date is November 27 before the criminal court in Évry.
The Defense Acknowledges Violence But Denies A System Of Control
In early September, after the complaint became public, Greg Guillotin had publicly acknowledged physical and psychological violence against his former partner. He said he was “ashamed” of it. This statement came before the interviews that led to the scheduling of the trial.
After his custody, his lawyer, Me Tom Michel, issued a statement reproduced by Le Parisien. He says his client answered investigators’ questions and provided information for the case. He claims the harassment charge was dropped. This clarification is presented as the defense’s position.
Speaking to 20 Minutes on September 30, Me Tom Michel specifies that his client admitted to violence before the gendarmes. According to the lawyer, Greg Guillotin acknowledges insults and putting her down, in particular, but disputes that these behaviors amounted to a system of control. The lawyer thus contrasts recognition of certain facts with other accusations he rejects.
For his part, Me Jean-Baptiste Riolacci, the complainant’s lawyer, spoke to the same newspaper. He explains that photographs, recordings, and messages accompany her complaint. These elements, like the defense’s explanations, are part of the upcoming legal debate. The YouTuber’s public statements do not amount to an undifferentiated admission of all the acts charged.
A Second Complaint Separate From The Évry Hearing
Greg Guillotin is also the subject of a complaint filed in early September by another former partner for alleged rape. In a statement devoted to this accusation, his lawyer says he formally disputes it. Me Tom Michel reiterated this challenge in his September 30 interview and asked that the two cases be kept separate.
This complaint concerns another relationship and follows a separate procedure. The November 27 date announced by the Évry prosecutor’s office concerns the repeated violence charges. They concern the complainant who had gone to court in June.
