Elvis Presley, the rock’n’roll legend, is set to make a comeback on stage in London in the form of a hologram. By the end of 2024, fans of the King will be able to attend an immersive show, where he will perform his greatest hits using advanced technology.
This ambitious project, titled Elvis Evolution, uses thousands of concert videos and private images to recreate an incredibly realistic version of Elvis. Andrew McGuinness, CEO of Layered Reality, the company behind this project, promises a unique experience for Elvis fans.
The Elvis hologram will be presented for the first time in London, before moving on to other major cities such as Las Vegas, Berlin, and Tokyo. This initiative is the result of an agreement with Authentic Brands Group, which manages the rights to the late star’s estate.
The use of holograms is not new in the music world. Before Elvis, ABBA had already been represented in the form of digital avatars in a show in London. Following its success, Pophouse Entertainment even announced a new show with the avatars of the American band Kiss.
At the height of his fame from the 1950s to the 1970s, Elvis Presley continues to make an impact. In addition to this hologram, he was recently celebrated in a biopic directed by Baz Luhrmann and is the subject of a film by Sofia Coppola based on the book by Priscilla Presley.
