The Quebec singer performed her 2002 song on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Place Joffre. Her performance concluded the cosmetics brand’s public event. This appearance accompanied the opening of Women’s Fashion Week and extended her return to the stage. It also fits into an already established business relationship: L’Oréal Paris is among the official partners of her concerts in Nanterre.

A Musical Finale Surrounded By The Ambassadors

Celine Dion arrived at the end of the runway to applause. According to the AFP report, she wore a long black sheath dress and had her hair down. She sang “I’m Alive,” then several participants joined her on the runway. Among them were Viola Davis, Simone Ashley, Aja Naomi King, and Eva Longoria.

The performance thus closed the L’Oréal Paris show, held outdoors between the Eiffel Tower and the École Militaire. It took place on the opening night of Women’s Fashion Week devoted to the Spring-Summer 2027 collections. Celine Dion did not open the brand’s show; her appearance was its finale.

The next morning, her official account on X thanked L’Oréal Paris for the evening. The post reused the hashtag associated with “I’m Alive” and included photos from the event.

L’Oréal Already Supports Her Concerts

The surprise appearance is part of a public partnership. The official site for the Celine Dion Paris 2026-2027 series presents L’Oréal Paris as her beauty partner.

This connection gives concrete context to the meeting between the singer and the runway show. The cosmetics brand supports her residency and hosts her at its own Paris event. The two stages are nonetheless separate events. One is a concert series in an indoor venue; the other, a performance in a fashion and beauty show.

This beauty-partner status applies to the concerts. The site does not detail the commitments tied to this runway appearance.

A Public Event In The Paris Calendar

The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode sets this Fashion Week from September 28 to October 6. In its section devoted to the week’s events, it lists “L’Oréal Paris Le Défilé. Express Your Worth.”, announced for 9 p.m. The organizer named is indeed L’Oréal Paris.

The distinction matters: the brand is a Fashion Week partner, but here it is putting on its own show. This accompanies the presentations and the fashion house runway shows. The official calendar had already begun on Monday afternoon, with Julie Kegels at 2:30 p.m. Weinsanto, Hodakova, and Matières Fécales followed.

Public access is one of the event’s distinctive features. L’Oréal’s communications announced an open-to-all show, along with a worldwide livestream on Instagram, TikTok, and its digital platforms. The intended audience thus went beyond the guests seated near the runway and the professionals present in the capital.

This openness does not mean the other houses remain invisible from afar. The FHCM calendar also distinguishes between physical invitation-only shows and their online broadcasts. L’Oréal’s claimed distinction lies in combining an audience on site, well-known personalities, and digital distribution.

The Beauty Expertise Behind The Show

For L’Oréal Paris, this ninth edition since 2017 was meant to celebrate self-confidence, inclusion, and solidarity among women. The slogan “Express Your Worth,” echoed in French in the title “Exprime ta valeur,” places these themes within the brand’s messaging. They express its advertising position, without by themselves constituting a measure of its impact.

The announced cast brought together actresses, models, and athletes. Jane Fonda, Kendall Jenner, Marie Bochet, and Bebe Vio Grandis were thus on the same list of ambassadors. The diversity of professions and generations is here a concrete part of the presentation intended by the organizer.

The beauty work also had its identified leads. In its announcement, L’Oréal entrusted makeup to Harold James and his team. Hair styling went to Stéphane Lancien and his team. The show also serves to showcase these skills, linked to the outfits worn on the runway.

The singer adds to this showcase an immediately recognizable performance, carried by her own repertoire. It can be seen as a way to broaden interest in the show to music fans. The commercial reach of this sequence, however, remains to be measured. The applause reported by AFP provides neither a live audience figure nor a tally of benefits for the brand.

An Appearance In The Middle Of Her Paris Run

Celine Dion’s presence in the region is explained first and foremost by her concerts. Having begun on September 12, her series is taking place at the Plenitude Arena, formerly Paris La Défense Arena, located in Nanterre. The Place Joffre show therefore takes place in Paris itself, while her residency is in the Hauts-de-Seine department.

Her official schedule includes sixteen performances between September 12 and October 17, 2026, then ten more in May 2027. The Fashion Week appearance falls between the Saturday, September 26, and Wednesday, September 30, dates. It thus extends a return to concerts that has already been underway for more than two weeks.

In this context, “I’m Alive” can resonate as an echo of her stage return. That reading remains an interpretation: the singer’s thank-you message does not make it a statement about her personal situation. The song remains, first and foremost, one of her repertoire’s titles, performed to bring together that night’s audience.

After this outdoor finale, her next announced date remains September 30 in Nanterre. Fashion Week, meanwhile, continues through October 6.
