Céline Dion gave her fifth Paris concert at Plenitude Arena in Nanterre on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Rihanna was back in the audience, and Didier Deschamps received a standing ovation there, according to Le Parisien. Launched on September 12, this series of sixteen dates is drawing figures from music, sports, and film. The show is also evolving from night to night.

Rihanna, A Second Night In One Week

The Barbadian singer had already attended the second performance on September 16. Videos posted by her entourage showed her singing along from the stands with her friends. She notably tried out the French lyrics of Pour que tu m’aimes encore before singing along to That’s the Way It Is. Those images spread widely the day after the concert.

Rihanna joins an audience of celebrities that has changed since opening night. Michelle Obama and Thomas Pesquet were among those who attended the opening night. The presence of these guests accompanies Céline Dion’s return to a major French venue after several years without concerts.

Television, Football, And Film In The Stands

On September 23, several television figures also took their seats in the arena. Laurent Delahousse, Leïla Kaddour, Julian Bugier, and Flavie Flament are among the personalities mentioned. In its report, Le Parisien describes arrivals through Gate 21, the access reserved for VIPs.

Didier Deschamps’s arrival prompted a standing ovation, according to the Parisien journalists on site. The former coach of the French national team was then asked for numerous selfies by spectators.

Journalist Benjamin Locoge, seated near him, reports another scene from the evening in Paris Match. When Céline Dion announces The Chase, Didier Deschamps says, “Then we’ll join our chairs.” The pun makes his row neighbors laugh, according to the reporter.

Film was represented as well. Le Parisien also lists director François Ozon and producer Dominique Besnehard among the evening’s guests. Comedian and actor Jamel Debbouze is also among the personalities listed by the newspaper.

A Show That Changes From Date To Date

Onstage, the residency is built around a repertoire in French and English. Concerts West, AEG Presents, and Inter Concerts are producing the show. They entrusted the staging to Willo Perron, as noted in Céline Dion’s official announcement. The choice brings together the French-language songs that established her popularity in France with titles from her international career.

In his September 23 review, Benjamin Locoge describes several adjustments. Scott Price’s piano seems more present in the overall sound to him. The third-act entrance has also changed: Céline Dion now appears directly in the spotlight, without using the staircase previously used. She then performs S’il suffisait d’aimer, accompanied by piano and a string quartet.

The alternation between these intimate passages and the ensemble sections structures the evening. A gospel ensemble appears in the final part; the show also includes a run of disco songs. Around the singer, Le Parisien counts eleven musicians, four backing vocalists, and a choir in its presentation published on September 23. The stage return thus involves a much larger lineup than just the performer in the spotlight.

Guest Artists And Fan Groups

The emotion of the reunion is not limited to the images of the VIP stands. The day after opening night, Louane told Le Parisien that she had cried during the show, linking that emotion to childhood memories. Her testimony evoked both her attachment to the repertoire and the anticipation of seeing Céline Dion sing before an audience again.

The report on spectators from September 23 shows another way of preparing for the event. Groups chose festive outfits for their evening at the Arena. Among them, coworkers wore gold tops. These preparations give the residency a collective dimension. It goes beyond the famous names drawing attention at the arena entrance.

Sixteen Concerts In Nanterre Through October 17

The schedule makes it possible to place this fifth night within the series. After the performances on September 12, 16, 18, and 19, the one on the 23rd opened a new concert week. Plenitude Arena, formerly Paris La Défense Arena, is located in Nanterre, in the Hauts-de-Seine department. This is the venue for the Paris residency.

The March 30 announcement initially covered ten performances, between September 12 and October 14. The program has since been expanded by six additional nights, notably Fridays, September 18 and 25. This extension explains the run of concerts in the middle and at the end of the week.

The official concert site lists sixteen dates for fall 2026, through Saturday, October 17. The next performances are scheduled for Friday, September 25, and Saturday, September 26. Eleven nights therefore remain on the program after the one on the 23rd. A second series of ten concerts is also announced from May 8 to May 29, 2027, in the same venue.
