Cannes Festival 2024: We Tell You Everything

The red carpet is ready to be rolled out: the famous Cannes Film Festival is back for its 77th edition, from May 14 to 25. This year, the festival is preparing to welcome actors, directors, and film lovers, with a rich and qualitative program.

Among the highlights, an honorary Palme d’Or will be awarded to George Lucas, recognized for his major contribution to the film industry through the Star Wars saga.

The great Meryl Streep will also receive an honorary Palme d’Or for her exceptional career. French actress Camille Cottin, known to the general public for her colorful character in Connasse, will take the reins as mistress of the opening and closing ceremonies.

The jury of this edition will be chaired by Greta Gerwig, the director of Barbie, who has amazed the audience. The festival will pay tribute to Akira Kurosawa with a poster depicting a scene from Rhapsody in August. In addition, highly anticipated films will be screened, including the latest work from Quentin Dupieux, The Second Act, The Most Precious of Cargoes by Michel Hazanavicius, an animated film in competition for the Palme d’Or, and even Baby by Brazilian Marcelo Caetano.
