Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: How Far Will They Go?

The battle continues between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Since their separation in 2016, the two stars have been clashing in court. The disputes concern both the custody of their six children and their vineyard estate in France, Château Miraval.

Recently, Angelina Jolie‘s legal team requested Brad Pitt to disclose messages related to their altercation on a private jet in 2016, which led to their breakup. This request was deemed "broad and intrusive" by Pitt’s lawyers, calling the move a "fishing expedition for sensationalist information."

According to documents obtained by People, Angelina Jolie wants Pitt to reveal his communications with third parties on sensitive topics, including the therapy he underwent after the incident and drug and alcohol screening tests. Pitt’s lawyers argue that this private information should not influence the litigation concerning the sale of the vineyard estate.

In 2021, Angelina Jolie sold her shares of Château Miraval for 67 million dollars, angering Brad Pitt, who sued, citing a verbal promise of sale. Jolie refused to sell her shares to Pitt due to a confidentiality agreement imposed by him, which intensified the tensions between them.

Jolie’s lawyer, Paul Murphy, recently claimed that Pitt was seeking to control his ex-wife by demanding a new non-disclosure agreement to cover his alleged abuses. Angelina Jolie wishes to end this legal battle to move forward, but she will need to obtain the necessary evidence to support her allegations if Pitt does not withdraw his lawsuit.

Brad Pitt’s spokespersons declined to comment, while his lawyers accuse Jolie of wanting to turn this commercial dispute into a litigation related to their divorce. The debate around transparency and Pitt’s alleged abuses continues to dominate the exchanges between the two parties.
