Biopic series on Brigitte Macron is in preparation. Several actresses have been approached to play the role of the First Lady, but one actress seems to have caught the screenwriters’ attention.

After the recent biopic on Bernadette Chirac with Catherine Deneuve, it is now Brigitte Macron’s turn to have her own television portrait. Gaumont recently announced the development of this six-episode series of 45 minutes each, titled Brigitte, a Free Woman.

According to the press, the story will begin with the meeting between Emmanuel Macron and Brigitte, then a French teacher, during a theater workshop in 1992-1993. The series will also explore the 70s, 80s, and 90s through flashbacks.

The project does not delight Brigitte Macron. According to our colleagues, the First Lady is not very enthusiastic, fearing how her meeting with Emmanuel Macron, who was still a minor at the time, will be portrayed.

The choice of actress to play Brigitte Macron has finally settled on Alix Poisson. Known for her roles in the series Parents mode d’emploi, 3 x Manon, Disparue, Quadras, and Les Randonneuses, as well as her appearances in cinema, Alix Poisson convinced over Léa Drucker and Sandrine Kiberlain according to our sources.

Some already claim that the actress is young enough to be the First Lady’s daughter, but Alix Poisson seems unconcerned. The actress criticized the hypocrisy around aging in a recent interview. She also expressed her disagreement with the idea that aging is always wonderful and highlighted the difficulty of continuing to love oneself despite physical changes. She calls for an end to the double talk on this subject.

It remains to be seen who will play Emmanuel Macron in this series, whose filming has not yet begun and for which no channel or streaming platform is yet associated.
