According to BFMTV, Gabriel Attal is preparing a national leaflet focused on Marine Le Pen’s legal case, to be distributed on July 11 and 12, 2026. The Renaissance candidate wants to launch his 2027 presidential run on integrity. He is also reducing his platform to four priorities: schools, wages, artificial intelligence, and borders.
A Leaflet To Frame The Start Of The Campaign
The document has not yet been published in full by Gabriel Attal’s campaign team. So BFMTV is, at this stage, the main source on its content. The network says it has seen a leaflet intended to be distributed across France during the weekend of July 11 and 12, 2026.
In the excerpts reported, Marine Le Pen would not be named directly. However, the leaflet would refer to her legal case. BFMTV specifically cites embezzlement of funds, the conviction, the electronic bracelet, and division. Caution is therefore warranted. This is a campaign document attributed to Attal’s team and described by BFMTV as targeting the National Rally candidate.
The choice of medium is political too. After TV panels and interviews, the Attal campaign is returning to old-school activism: a leaflet, local teams, a condensed message. The sequence allows the Renaissance candidate not just to react to Marine Le Pen. It also sets the stage for a showdown before the presidential campaign fully takes shape.
Integrity As The Attack Line
The strategy is clear: place Marine Le Pen’s candidacy under the lens of public morality. The leaflet thus avoids getting into all the technical details of the legal case. Gabriel Attal had already hinted at this on RTL on July 9. He said then that the campaign risked turning into a “legal chronicle” rather than a substantive debate.
That phrase reflects a broader line. The Renaissance candidate contrasts himself with an RN candidacy caught up in the fallout from the FN’s European parliamentary assistants case. On the other side, he presents a generational offer. The line is politically effective, but it requires distinguishing two registers: the established legal facts and how they are used in a campaign.
Marine Le Pen was convicted on appeal by the Paris Court of Appeal. The case concerns the National Front’s European parliamentary assistants affair. Public Sénat details a three-year prison sentence. One year in prison would be served under electronic monitoring. The outlet also mentions a 100,000-euro fine and a ban on running for office that was reduced compared with the first ruling. According to it, that ban was reduced to forty-five months, including thirty months suspended, with no immediate enforcement.
The RN candidate has announced her intention to file an appeal before the Court of Cassation. This point is decisive for understanding the sequence. Franceinfo notes the suspensive effect of this appeal. The Court of Appeal ruling will not be enforced until the Court of Cassation has issued its decision. In other words, it should not be written that she is, at this stage, legally barred from running in 2027.
Cassation, A Political Uncertainty
The Court of Cassation will not retry the case on the merits. It will have to determine whether the law was correctly applied by the appellate judges. It may reject the appeal, overturn all or part of the ruling, or send the case back to another Court of Appeal. This mechanism is technical, but it already has a political effect: it prolongs uncertainty around Marine Le Pen’s campaign.
The timing is also conditional. Le Monde reports a possible ruling by early April 2027 at the latest. The paper notes, however, that this deadline still depends on procedural factors. It is this gray area that the Attal campaign is seeking to turn into an argument. Under this reading, the RN would be bringing the presidential race into a state of permanent legal waiting.
Public Sénat also points out that the legal debate is not closed on all possible effects of the appeal. Several legal experts are still debating the consequences of the ineligibility sentence handed down at first instance. For a political piece, this nuance matters. The issue is not just whether Marine Le Pen can campaign today. It is also how long this question will continue to dominate public debate.
Attal Also Wants To Talk Policy
The leaflet described by BFMTV would not be purely offensive. According to the network, its back side would present Gabriel Attal as the candidate of a new generation. It would also sum up his campaign around four priorities: schools, wages, artificial intelligence, and borders.
This framing is the core of the move. Gabriel Attal cannot let Marine Le Pen occupy the start of the campaign alone. But he also cannot reduce his own offer to a moral denunciation of the RN. So he pairs the legal attack with the beginnings of a platform. Integrity becomes an entry point into a renewal narrative, in a sequence where the RN is already leading in several polls.
The risk is symmetrical. For Attal, overemphasizing the Le Pen case could make the campaign look dependent on the RN’s legal calendar. For Marine Le Pen, the candidacy is officially back on track. It remains, however, exposed to a proceeding whose outcome could come very close to the presidential election.
For now, no new official reaction from the RN, Marine Le Pen, or Jordan Bardella has been identified regarding this leaflet. The full document has not been found on any official Gabriel Attal or Renaissance channel either. So the main point remains this: the Attal campaign appears to want to make Marine Le Pen’s legal situation a test of integrity. It is also trying to bring the 2027 presidential election back to its own platform.
