On Tuesday, May 14, Prince Albert of Monaco was received at the Élysée by Emmanuel Macron. The president presented him with the insignia of Commander of Agricultural Merit. The ceremony took place in the presence of Princess Charlène and their children, Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques, as well as Princess Caroline.
The Order of Agricultural Merit rewards services rendered to agriculture. Among the previous recipients are Jean Rochefort and Isabelle Mergault. During the presentation, Emmanuel Macron praised Albert’s commitment to the environment and agriculture.
Charlène, elegant in a powder pink trouser suit, and their young children, also impeccably dressed, attended the ceremony. Brigitte Macron, dressed in black, the color of sobriety, posed with the princely family.
Prince Albert and Emmanuel Macron maintain close relations. In March, the president had sent his wishes for the prince’s 66th birthday. Albert recalled the Grimaldi family’s attachment to the land and agricultural progress. Emmanuel Macron praised the quality of the Roc Agel vegetable garden, a princely property.
After the ceremony, Albert participated in the recording of Petits plats en équilibre on TF1. He cooked vegetables from his garden with the host Laurent Mariotte. The show will be broadcast on June 3.
This day at the Élysée underlines the Franco-Monegasque friendship and common commitments in favor of agriculture and the environment.
